Calculation of Victory Points
Hi - when calculating victory point totals, do partial losses count, or does a unit have to be eliminated in its entirety to count for victory points. Example: if a squad has six men, and four are eliminated, but the unit still exists on the map, are the four men lost counted towards the enemy's victory point totals?
Thanks! |

Open the scenario editor
Build a 20x20 map and set game length to 1 turn Buy a platoon for one side and the same the other Hide spare units at the map edge and place a unit for player 1 in hiding and a unit for player 2 close by in the open. Start the game, shoot up the unit in the open so it takes casualties but don't eliminate it End your turn, Wait for the game to end then look at the victory screen and you'll have you answer in less time that it took to ask and wait |
Re: Calculation of Victory Points
A search of this forum for "victory points" brings up several posts with the relevant answer.
Damage points are victory points, in fact they are the prime source of VP, the objective hexes are a bonus. Therefore if you hurt a 100 point unit with 23 damage - you have scored 23 VP. Crews are shown as 0 points - but of course they are worth the remaining VP of the unit they bailed from, provided the abandoned unit is not wrecked, so are not "free scouts". |
Re: Calculation of Victory Points
Even if you're not playing a campaign, this is a reason to preserve your damaged units, and finish off enemy units.
A 10 man squad/section, worth 25 points, that has lost 7 men has gained/lost someone only 7 victory points; but if that unit is destroyed someone has gained/lost 25 VP. Cross |
