Surrounded
A unit is considered "surrounded" if it takes direct fire from opposite directions, resulting in immediate suppression of X amount of points on top of the normal results.
This is probably a lot harder to program in than it sounds, and you certainly don't want to bug up this really beautiful game. Just a thought. |
Re: Surrounded
Have you actually tried encircling units as a tactic? It is the bestway to dispose of infantry quickly & should be done when evere possible as frontal attacks are far more drawn out & costly on men.

Re: Surrounded
You'd also have to concider morale and exp.type, status and what cover they have of said unit.
Just because they get fire from both front and rear should not mean automatic surrender. |
Re: Surrounded
I did not mean automatic "surrender", but certainly some extra suppression points for being in a lousy situation.

Re: Surrounded
That already happens in the game. The more firing units the faster suppression builds and if the defending unit cannot find a way to retreat it *may* surrender.
Like most things in the game, it's not a hard or fast rule and other factors influence surrender that's why when you surround a unit and start firing it doesn't just automatically give up every time Don |
