New Campaign - US Marine riverboats in Vietnam
1 Attachment(s)
Hi Guys, this is version 1.1 for the Marines on boats. It's set to play as an open core but if you prefer, change to closed core, there is a closed core force selected. This version should be closer to realistic than the first version and should play better. For those who haven't looked at version 1 - This is the best excuse ever to play with the wonderful boats the Marines used in the Mekong Delta.

Hello Duff,
I don't see the fixed core force. Have you sent the correct files? Regards Yves |

If you go to "edit campaign" and change it from open core to fixed, then save it the fixed core should be there for you. I've just tested it and it works from here.

Re: New Campaign - US Marine riverboats in Vietnam
Hello Duff,
I probably misspoke because the use of the English language is not familiar to me. I know it is possible to modify a core force in the editor but it cannot logically be done in one direction: fixed core --- > open core by assigning build's points. Indeed, the reverse would not help much. The player chooses his own units (not these of the designer of the scenario), to give a number of points that he would like (it would change the gameplay provided by the designer of the scenario) ditto for repair/build points. Ideally, you create one fixed core force (no need to redo your scenarios) with as suggested by Gila, limited repair/build points to increase the challenge. As I wrote in a previous post, "Your campaign seems to be interesting. The first difficulty is, for my level, the recruitment. I'm French and Viet Nam does not evoke much for me. Also a fixed core would be a great help. By building your various scenarios, I suppose you have a clear idea about the composition of your core force. (Would that the equilibrium scenarios). Could you give us the benefit of your experience?" Regards |

Hi glaude1955
On my machine, if I go to "edit campaign" and change from open campaign to fixed campaign, when I start to play, the fixed core force appears and I don't get the points to build a force - Is this not what happens for you? As far as I can tell, a campaign designer can easily support open and closed on the one campaign build by assigning the points for open and selecting the "fixed" force in the 1st scenario. Again, if I'm wrong do let me know. |

Hi Duff,
Here's what I do: Choice of campaign 025 River Force Epsilon Edit Campaign Change open core to fixed core. Save Exit Choice of campaign 025 River Force Epsilon Start Your first mission ... Start --- Back to list campaign! Could you send me a new campaign programmed fixed core? I will tell you later if I can play it on my PC. Perhaps it is that I do not have the first scenario of the campaign. Regards Yves |

Re: New Campaign - US Marine riverboats in Vietnam
Hello Duff,
Thank you for your shipment. I understood why it was not working. In your Delta and the last new folder, files C025s000.dat to C025s008.dat were not included in your zip. I hope you do not change your basic scenarios for Epsilon By installing your first campaign Epsilon then modifying it with new file folder, it works. The first scenario is exciting, but I did get a marginal victory ... Fortunately my losses are not too serious but I have to start the campaign as you programmed it needed a decisive victory to advance to the next step. It is a field that I do not know, I let myself be surprised by the hexagons of water levels that transform units in inflatable boat. And a boat does not support balls! By fiddling the files in the editor, I arranged for whatever the outcome, I go directly to the following scenario. To me avoid losses if I want to go far. thank you Regards Yves |

Hi Glaude
Thanks for the feedback, the scenarios are a little different so I've re-done the compression again. i'd like to blame technology but I'm pretty sure it was my error  Last try - The revised scenarios are easier. |
