Plane overflight

I just had a very odd one playing as Russia May 72 river crossing using unit 40 Mig21bis.
No saved game but the unit in question had an experience of 59, 67 or 72 pretty sure 59 or 67 looking at save from game start.
Visibility is 39 & the unit in question was the 2nd of 4 making an attack run, it flew from right to left.
No new units were detected to stay permanently on the map & indeed the other guys revealed maybe one unit briefly as they made there run.
This plane though on its pass must have revealed everything in a guessing here 20 hex wide strip till it was shot down.
Probably 30 odd dug in units & as many mines, oh they have laid a deep minefield. None of the units have fired & as its a river crossing they will all be dug in & have not moved.
Size zero were revealed as saw MG units, very strange.
Anybody else had this?

My view apart from spotter planes the "recon report" should be disabled anyway as gives to much info. Fair enough with the few units which stay on the map after the run which are normally units firing AA or vehicles.
Hes telling his airforce buddies & a bit of intel is getting through to the ground troops

Once in a while after I've been playing for a few hours an aircraft will suddenly become the worlds greatest spotter.
A reboot and replay of the turn solves this.
I assume it has to do with some minor, but progressive memory leak.

Re: Plane overflight

Air strikes have always randomly revealed the opposite sides unspotted forces, mines and all. Its a known bug since the days of SP2. It happens randomly, and for no known reason.

I have tried several times to catch it, but it is buried in the spaghetti rather deeply.

It's not related to enemy AAA fire being received (The flash-reveal may happen if none was fired). I think...

It's not related to air weapons release, destroying the target etc.

It is not related to aircraft movement (or it would happen every time) - though it does seem to happen on the outbound pass of a strike, post weapon release. At least, it seems to be so after seeing it a few times.

Something buried in there swaps the focus to the defending player's POV instead of the plane owner's for some reason I'd love to know and hence be able squash it flat:(.

However - if somebody can provide a save game where it happens 100% of the time - please send it in.

Re: Plane overflight

In my experiences it seems to have something to do with the number of airstrikes, IE; I sometimes use as many as 50 airstrikes (15 dedicated to spotter aircraft) in a scenario (both MBT and WW2) and see that bug often when I do.

Maximum map size, maximum build points, unlimited ammo, 50 airstrikes.

I can't re-create it every time, but I do see it often enough and know that I've got dozens of saved games where it has happened.

I just chalk it up to somebody at NSA/CIA/DIA/OSS doing a good job.
