Problems with Patches

Hi, I haven't posted here for a long time or every really played much but I am trying to install Dominions 3 on my computer. When I install it the game works fine but when I try to patch it after the patch installation I get the message Cannot create Config File, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the files at least once and there is no change. Any advice? I kind of want to play.

Run as admin and don't install the thing in program files or anywhere in your user files.

Install it to C:\games\dom3 or something like that.
