Alternate bitmap question (SEIV Gold)
I noticed that there was an "alternate bitmap" designation on the entries for vehicle hulls in the demo text files. How does that work? Will the AI automatically default to the primary bitmap even if an alternate is designated?
(Basically, I'm wondering if I'm going to have to go into each race image folder, plus the default and create a copy of a particular hull's bitmap and name it the same as whatever alternate I designate to avoid an error or not.) http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif |
Re: Alternate bitmap question (SEIV Gold)
basically, this allows modders to add aditional ship sizes with new ship size pictures without having to worry about other race styles not having that image.
Say I add the ship size "Monitor" at 2000kt. I can specificy race_monitor.bmp as the main bitmap and race_dreadnought.bmp as the alternate. If a race style doesn't have the primary, it defaults to the alternate. |

There is a whole thread on the Neo-Standard Shipset here:
Non-Standard Shipset thread This should give you an idea of some of the standardized names the modders are trying to use http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif |
