Deployment line
 
No idea if this is possible but a thought bought about mainly due to the vision of modern units namely helicopters.
Would it be possible to have a choice & perhaps random setting for deployment area or possibly 2 sets of lines.
Foot soldiers & possibly scout vehicles can deploy to the most forward one while all other unit classes are restricted to the later. Probably only need on maps over 80-100 wide.

The reasoning
1) This would possibly help the AI remain more cohesive on a bigger map.
2) If playing with a mainly infantry force allows the use of bigger maps without spending a lot of time moving to contact.
Say foot infantry supported by a mech company & a couple of attack helos.
Try this on a 80 or 100 wide map with modern 60 vision helos & you are looking at the arty park pretty quick. Especialy if vision is say 25 hexes & the opposing side has few radar or TI equipped AA units.

Modern attack helos are formidable pieces of kit so a bit of space to try & hide or mount some sort of defence is welcome though the real game changer if they are about is their ability as scouts
