Map Edit of Generated Campaign Maps
Is there a way of editing the maps generated in a Generated Campaign? The maps generated are usually pretty good but I'd like to add a few houses, add a road or two, general cleanup, etc.

There you can load pre-made maps, re-spin the existing map etc or save off the currently generated map, if you like the look of it for later use (and you can of course edit that in the scenario map editor later). That is usually all that's needed for random battles. There is no "edit map" function to do a few tweaks as you suggest (or major surgery) - though adding the scenario editor map editing functionality in there might be a useful addition for the full game, now you mention it. |

Thanks much. Yes, the edit feature would be nice addition to the process. Maybe you guys could think about this for a future update. Hey, just one more thing for us to play around with and enjoy the game!
Thanks again, Don Bennett Kurtistown, HI |

Now done and tested. It will be included in the next patch for full game owners

This is the kind of thing that makes the game, it's developers and this forum special!
Awesome, quick work! Thank You DRG (and Mobhack)! |
Re: Map Edit of Generated Campaign Maps
Now my opponents will be surprised why there are always so many streams on their side of the map :D

Re: Map Edit of Generated Campaign Maps
For obvious reasons anyone who abuses this feature in PBEM will soon find he has no opponents

Re: Map Edit of Generated Campaign Maps
Something I've been known to do is save on the deployment screen, move the .DAT and .CMT files from Saved Games to the Scenarios file, rename them appropriately (SpScn998 or whatever), edit them as I wish and return them to Saved Games under the new name.
Not sure what would happen if I tried it in a battle from part of a campaign. Never did this often enough to run into any bugs but I'd be very surprised if it didn't cause a few. This is definitely going to be simpler. |
