Space Cities- worth while?
I only have the Gold demo, but I noticed that in the beginning of the game, the homeworld(s) have maxxed out population. So what I did was build some space stations with cargo pods to hold some of the population, thus allowing the planets to max-out again.
Is it really worth the effort and resources to build these 'habitats'? (I had enormous amounts of excess organics btw) The only serious disadvantage is the temporary hit in bonus production because of the 4000M population being less. |

People are not living in those stations, they are in cryogenic suspension when in a cargo bay. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif
Doing what you do is only worth if you're planning to transport a huge amount of population to new colonies without losing high population bonuses in your homeworld. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif [ 02 February 2002: Message edited by: Andrés Lescano ]</p> |
Re: Space Cities- worth while?
If you take advanced storage techniques, you get some extra population on every planet. When a colony ship loads population, the total drops from 2400 or 4800 instead of from 2000 or 4000, so the production bonus is not lowered.
