M-85 aamg

The M-85 MG on some US made tanks isn't on a free mount, but enclosed in a mini-turret.

Would autocannon class be more realistic for this weapon than AAMG, as it could likely fire at helicopters, yet not jets?

I'm sure you understand.

Well, really, - since 99.9999% of end users won't notice the change one little bit then no. Not worth the bother as the microscopic change in game play for all the effort of going through 90 odds OOBs and checking a zillion existing scenarios would only be noticed by a few OCD rivet-counter types.

Of course - by all means, feel free to make up your own modified set of OObs with your idea(s). You have Mobhack for that and the mods forum to post them in.

The ability to fire protected I'd extend to many Abrams models also, regarding AAMG's. Basically, all models, excepting the M1a2, and the earliest versions. A TMG autocannon class for the .50 cal's, also, many modern Russian tanks have this, along with... late Leopard 2's...

Re: M-85 aamg

We already have set up class 4 AAMG in the code to no longer be buttoned by fire. They only lose a shot or 2 now if suppressed.

However, they need the ability to shoot at fixed wing planes at short range, which your suggestion of making them auto-cannon would remove, leaving them only able to bother helicopters.

So, not going to happen - unless you fancy making your own modified OOB set.
