No Artillery Units available plotting disabled due to mission type
 
Hi

I am trying to play the WinSPMBT Tutorial Scenario and when I press the bombardment button (B) I get the following message in the upper right hand corner

"No Artillery Units available plotting disabled due to mission type"

I seem to get this message when I install winspmbtv7_2013_upgrade

When I install WinSPMBT_CD and WinSPMBTver 6.0 Consolidation Patch Units are shown in the upper right corner
Such As:
M106A2
M106A2
A-10 Warthog
A-10 Warthog
155mm Platoon
155mm Platoon
155mm Platoon
155mm Platoon
155mm Platoon
155mm Platoon

The problem still exists if I install winSPMBTv8_2014_Upgrade(R)

Please read through the Release Notes section of the manual for the individual changes per edition. All changes to the game play are noted here, and all end users are expected to have read through that section of the GG since it answers many questions. (It is the same information as posted on the readme section of the game patch installers that very few end users seem to read...)

Game Guide -> Release History. The 7.0 upgrade patch section covers this in the paragraph beginning "Artillery can no longer be plotted...".

This is a designed feature:

The Tutorial scenario is a "Meeting Engagement" type scenario - this means that artillery and air assets are not available until the 3rd turn.

(this is also true of the defender in Assault and Advance type scenarios)

This feature was introduced with the V7.0 version which is why the ver 6.0 install does not have this "problem".

From the release history in the game guide:
Artillery can no longer be plotted (including air transports and spotters) on turn 0, or 1 if the battle is a meeting engagement or you are the delayer or defender. A scenario designer can still plot artillery as he desires in his scenario, however. The AI may still plot fire as before. This is deliberate to penalise a human player who packs the approach roads. Note that the bombardment screen may still be entered to plot FDF gold spots, or toggle the blast radius display. The arty units just will not show up till post turn 1 if unavailable in the scenario for pre-game bombardment
