Re: Invisible Vehicles (no icon)
Have you installed, in the following order:
Base Game - then the consolidation patch - then the 2013 patch - then finally the 2014 patch And all into the exact same directory? End users that see "invisible" vehicles tend to have a missing patch or to have applied patches in incorrect order. Another way to lose patches is to install to the /program files/ hierarchy if you have windows versions beyond XP - we advise against that in the installation instructions. (These instructions are in the text message box that comes up in the installer). Later Windows may re-direct the files into your personal folder space instead of the actual game folder if you do so. Read the "installing in vista and seven" sticky thread at the top of the main forum, if required. Reinstall from the base game up with all the patches applied in the correct order to a folder outside of /program files/ and you should be good to go. cheers Andy |
Re: Invisible Vehicles (no icon)
@Mobhack
I installed everything in the following order The base game CD version Patches 1,2,4,5,6 when they where released Then the 7.11 patch (I was under the impression that it had replaced the 7.0 patch) Did I do something wrong? |
Re: Invisible Vehicles (no icon)
THIS AGAIN !!!
This is NOT a question of "Have you installed, in the following order".......... it is MOST DEFINATLEY because you have not patched the game correctly as has been pointed out on more than a few occasions on this forum. It's not just the missing icons that's indicates this is the case the screen borders were changed in 2013 so you missed that patch and the ONLY way to get this back in shape so there are no more erroneous "bug" reports is repatch everything in the order Andy listed and when you do everything will work correctly. Next patch will be another consolidator with all patches after the winSPWW2 Consolidation Patch rolled into on patch . This is at least the 6th time this has happened, most have not been reported on the forum's but directly to me through Shrapnel. We write right in the patch the order they should be patched and I really don't know what else we can do to make it clear there is more than the latest patch so I'm finally going to solve the problem once and for all. It means everyone will be DL a bigger patch than they have to but that's the way it goes Don |

You missed the 2013 patch. That's why those Icons are missing and why you are still seeing the old screen borders and background. Go back, DL the 2013 patch, install it into your game then install the 2014 patch again here's what everyone else sees for the SdKfz 11 http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/attac...1&d=1417893209 |
Re: Invisible Vehicles (no icon)
The next question would be......... are you still running the game from Program files seeing as you are running from the original CD version ??

Re: Invisible Vehicles (no icon)
Deleted all my WinSPWW2 files (and WinSPMBT for good measure) and reinstalled outside of the programs folder. Applied patch 5, 6, 7.11, and now everything is working fine.

Re: Invisible Vehicles (no icon)
You may want to check your hard drive for wayward files. If you simply installed the 2013 patch previously without reading the instructions you will find it was installed into C: That's likely how it was "missed" if you had been patching regularly with the updates we have provided
We had to move to C: from Program files because of Vista and Win7 |
