Reassigning unit numbering?

(Ok, this could be viewed as nick-picking, but I'll ask anyway.)

Is it possible to change the ordering number of units within a platoon?

When playing a campaign and one loses a platoon leader, in subsequent scenarios the role of the platoon leader is usually given to another existing unit within the platoon. (Example: Lose of plt ldr B0 may in the next scenario give that role to unit B2.) Since I like to change the unit focus in order ('N' key) to rally units and move them in a particular manner, I'd prefer the first unit of a platoon to always be the plt ldr.

Can one edit some file before playing the scenario to maintain the new leader's abilities but just change their ordering number?

That's exactly what the "fix formation leader" button on the HQ menu does, for owners of the full game. Do it in the deployment phase. Added in 2013.

Game guide -> CD estended features, scroll down to "Formation Menu new for 2013"

In the deployment only, a new button is added to the Formation Menu to allow the fixing of the formation leader. If the platoon leader has been moved to a unit other than the 0 index, he will be exchanged back into place with that other leader. This is chiefly useful for repairing platoons in long campaigns. It is a manual and not an automatic function since some people will probably like the current leader assignment.
