Should vehicles become immobilized using fords?

Yes.

Not as often as driving through a full depth stream, but yes. Believe me a friend of mine used to make a pretty penny "rescuing" cars stuck in the ford on the road near his farm.

Your chances of getting stuck depend on the speed with which you cross, best to move next to the ford, then stop and cross next turn. If you treat it like a bridge and charge straight across your chances of getting bogged worsen.
