Can terrain be destroyed
I know you can destroy buildings but can you destroy other terrain, like hedgerows? Would you use bulldozers, engineers, something else to do it?
|
Re: Can terrain be destroyed
Other than rubbling buildings and dropping bridges, I don't believe so.
The most large amounts of HE can do is create shell holes. I guess in a 50 metre length of hedgerow even a bulldozer only creates a small gap and to all intents and purposes the hedgerow is still there. |
Re: Can terrain be destroyed
Thanks. I was at least hoping to be able to create a path for my tanks. Sometimes a whole cluster of victory hexes is inside a circle of hedgerows and the roads seems to be lined with them. Guess I need more foot sloggers! :)

How do you destroy a bridge?

Warhead size of about 122mm for wooden bridges, and 8 inch for stone - or a laser guided 1000+lb bomb (MBT). Best bet is probably a pre-laid demolition charge, or several (the first will trigger the others in the same or next hex, often enough). |
Re: Can terrain be destroyed
Thanks.
If I attack the hex with area fire, would that also give a chance to destroy it? Say I used an engineer unit with demo charges. Or maybe blow up an ammo carrier on it :) |

Ammo carrier has a good chance if it blows up, needs to be enemies though or you cant fire at it unless you want to use your artillery or z fire at it. |
Re: Can terrain be destroyed
A demolition charge would work but it's not 100% certain by design.
