obat 41 a couple of corrections
1 Attachment(s)
I'm requesting a couple of small corrections to the Yugo OOB, and the addition of one unit.
1. unit 040 - White Scout Car - I think the end date should be extended - one site claims they were in use in the early 70s. In any case, there's a photo of them with the UN peacekeeping troops on the Sinai in 1956-1967 (Yugoslavia participated in the mission), implying they were likely used longer than 12/60. source in Serbian with mentioned photo (scroll down): http://www.srpskioklop.paluba.info/m3skaut/opis.htm 2. units 003 and 032 have weight 22. I believe it should be 32. 3. M4A3 Sherman Dozer should be added to the OOB, as it was delivered as aid to Yugoslavia together with the regular M4A3s. Date: 1/51-12/80 (like regular M4A3) source: "Jugoslavija i NATO 1951-1957" [Yugoslavia and NATO 1951-1956] by Bojan Dimitrijević (attaching photo as proof) Note that if the Dozer is added, the AI pick list might use a tweak, to allow the AI to take mine clearing tanks in the 1950s (currently they only become available in 1960). |

IDK when people starting thinking that meant "tons" but is can't because 55 is the highest number you can use there ( 255= 2= carries vehicles 55 = how much "weight" )......it's an abstraction like a lot of numbers in the game. They are 24 in the Russian OOB and it means the same as the 22 in the yugo OOB.......you can put TWO in a typical landing barge. Make them 32 and you can only put in 1 and I'll bet the average player has only played a game with landing barges a VERY small % of the time they spend with the game Don |
Re: obat 41 a couple of corrections
Yeah I admit I thought it meant tons... Thanks for clearing that up.

Re: obat 41 a couple of corrections
Another thing "weight" is useful for is helicopters.
Heavy (and some medium) helos can carry certain vehicles (carry capacity 2xx - 2 meaning it can carry vehicles), but none of them can lift a tank. So setting vehicle weights greater then lift capacity (the xx part of the carry capacity) insures folks can't ferry tanks around with helos. |

The rest of the request has been added

Re: obat 41 a couple of corrections
I've noticed there are no Inf-AT units prior to the introduction of the locally-made RB-57 in 1957.
According to the above-mentioned "Jugoslavija i NATO 1951-1957", American aid received in 1951-53 included a number of both the M9A1 Bazooka and the M20 Bazookas. Furthermore, the Yugoslav Army had PTRD anti-tank rifles, a small number of PIATs and M9A1 Bazookas and captured Panzerfausts/Panzerschrecks leftover from WW2 (as attested by their WW2 OOB). Obviously, it's not necessary to represent ALL of this, so I'd propose something like the following. 1. Add UNITS: M9A1 Bazooka Team 1/46-? M20 Bazooka Team 1/51-? PTRD ATR Team 1/46-? 2. change FORMATION 175 start date to 1/46. 3. possibly change AI picklist to include the above formation prior to 1957. p.s. here's also visual proof for the bazookas - the user manual: http://mmc.bolha.com/3/image/203917/...f0c92b307d.jpg |
Re: obat 41 a couple of corrections
. It is MORE than likely some of this was around for a number of years. They were still using M18's in Bosnia.......... Next release they will be in

Re: obat 41 a couple of corrections
Do you consider this worth adding to the OOB?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-34_v...mer_Yugoslavia I can get more info if needed. |
Re: obat 41 a couple of corrections
It's an interesting curiosity but no.....

Re: obat 41 a couple of corrections
Just one correction: UNIT 630 start date should be 1/46; they're leftovers from WW2.
