American OOB Question
I have a question regarding the 82nd Airborne vs the 101st. I am assuming (big leap) that the airborne units in the oob represent the 82nd and other airborne units while the 101st would be the airmobile units. That said, looking at the morale and experience ratings, there is quite a difference. Airborne 10 each vs Airmoble 5 each. Shouldn't these be closer. I am assuming both these units have similar esprit de corps etc?

Re: American OOB Question
The ones that jump always are higher rated than the ones that ride along

Re: American OOB Question
It's funny about that. When I was in the 7th ID, (light infantry division)back in the 80s, we were told just how much better we were than the 82nd or 101st. FWIW, the only unit that didn't claim to be the best was 2nd ID when it was a permanent garrison division in the ROK.

Re: American OOB Question
I didn't want to start a dick measuring contest. :D I just figure with the 82nd and 101st having similar histories, I figured training and morale would be similar.

Re: American OOB Question
I've heard both sides of it from a "better trained" perspective, so I guess that throwing yourself out of a plane wins the morale argument

Re: American OOB Question
For a change I'll play it smart and NOT get involved (retired Jarhead here) in an US Army training and morale issue.

Re: American OOB Question
The USMC para in SPWW2 only get +5 because their morale is already high ( just in case somebody asks.........)

Re: American OOB Question
I know I can change if I am so inclined I was just asking 1st, if the airmobile unit was the 101st, which was implied in the responses and opinions what people thought, which was answered. Just a curiosity question, nothing more. :)
