T34 Calliope
Opponent is using some Calliope's in a 6/44 battle against me. They are armed with 105mm cannon. Thing is, I'm pretty sure they only carried the 75mm, is this something that needs consideration?

You could just look at the unit in the encyclopaedia or on a unit buy screen to verify that the unit does indeed use a 105mm cannon

We modeled it on the M4A3 (105) because at the time ( and still ....) there was no hard information that the rocket frames couldn't be or were not mounted on the 105 Sherman and since it's artillery---a SP rocket launcher-- an HE gun made sense but if you have solid info that they were only mounted on 75 armed tanks I'll change it.

Well, in war thunder they modeled it with 75mm (http://wiki.warthunder.com/index.php...r_T34_Calliope) and they are very historically accurate. Also, I cannot find a picture of a Calliope with a 105mm nor any mention of the rockets being mounted on the 105 sherman. Every picture ive ever seen is with a 75mm sherman. Maybe not solid info, but all the info I can muster.

Something made me look over here and saw this Thread...
What I have seems to indicate first used in Normandy Invasion on the M4A1 SHERMAN'S (Though as the war progressed the later versions of the SHERMAN were used as well. Ref. 3) mounting the original 76mm main gun. The T-34 CALLIOPE W/7.2 inch rockets seems to have been the most used in combat followed by a version that fired 4.5 inch rockets using multiple 3 pack aircraft rocket launchers. This from mostly Ref. 1 U.S. II CORP WWII documents. The CALLIOPE could fire it's rockets singly/Rounds of 6/or full continuous 60 round rocket barrage. One CALLIOPE 7.2 launcher had the effective fire power of 15 Batteries of 105mm artillery. That's from the below War Department You Tube video. Something was bugging me after my last post, so came back for a 2nd QA check. I noticed the last ref. was botched by me while trying to highlight the refs. and add the last picture showing the CALLIOPE with the 4.2 inch rockets that appeared to have served with the 5th U.S. ARMY in Italy if not mistaken.

In the book the encyclopedia of weapons of WWII by Chris Bishop it says the Calliope was constructed of plywood as it was a one shot weapon for use against strong points.
