Just an observation but is anybody else impressed with there R&D, sure they are probably always on a war footing or near it but when it comes to ground units they seem to be able to do R&D cheaply & quickly compared to the rest of the world.
Its not a new trend either after all who invented ERA.

Sure when it comes to Air & AAA its the big boys playing field but ground system development once they identify a need R&D seems fast, cheap & efficient.

The Izzies invented ERA? Wasn't aware of that. Anyway good on 'em, they stand like a rock against the jihadi flood tide.

If you think their defensive R&D is impressive, you should see what they do in agriculture. All the best computer-control systems for pig and chicken farms come from Rotem.
