Kangaroo APC's
I noticed -from information that FASTBOAT TOUGH put up- That Kangaroo APC's were in action with Canadian forces from early August 1944, rather than October as noted in SPWW2. M7 Priest Kangaroos seem to have been the first used -leading to the wonderful nickname "unfrocked Priests"- followed by other conversions.
Eventually the Canadians had a full regiment of Kangaroos and they were also used by British forces. Kangaroo type conversion APC's were also used in Italy. They offered much better protection than M3 halftracks. I also note there was a Churchill Kangaroo APC (maybe Post WWII)? http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww...ngaroo-series/ With thanks to FASTBOAT TOUGH for the link. |

You'd better look again. They appear correctly in the game 8/44 for the Priest Kangaroo- unit 195 ( first used in Operation Totalise) and 10/44 for the Ram Kangaroos- unit 53 and it's been like that in the Canadian OOB for over a decade. There were a few Ram versions ready in September but those really weren't used until October '44 but that time period is covered by the Priest conversions so there IS complete coverage by the various Kangaroo types from Augst 1944 onward and in the Brit OOB there are three versions but those ( rightly ) do not start unit October 44. If a Brit player wants 'Roos before then they have to borrow them from the Candians as in RL |
Re: Kangaroo APC's
Apologies I was confusing Ram Kangaroos with Kangaroos in general...
