M48 Series Front Turret Armour

I had a quick question about the front turret armour value for the M48 series of tanks. The game has this set at 15cm, however a number of online sources say that the front turret thickness is 177mm with the gun mantlet being 110mm at 30o. Have these two values been averaged to get the 150mm value?

These values likely have not been looked at since SSI came up with the data in SP2. (I dont have the SP2 DOS oobs any more, but the thin turret front sounds familiar - I think I played an LC as Jordan long ago).

Tank net gave some figures (post #15):

Which seem to be in the same ballpark too.

Others may produce other values, of course.

We'd have to be convinced before doing it though, as an uplift to ~18cm wont make much of a difference, and there are plenty of oobs with M48s, plus probably a fair few scenarios to check through etc. so its not a trivial exercise.

IIRC the M48's cast armour that the turret had wasn't of particularly good quality, thus it was relatively easy to penetrate vs. contemporary projectiles at least. Still, the turret armor in the game is a bit lower, but not by much.
