Cuban armour
Those who know me are aware that I am no master in ORBAT errors reporting - so I will just leave it those who are good at in and quickly report something that frowns me.
I went through Cuban trade registers and deliveries recently, as well as other random sources and pictures. Literally NONE ever mentions that Cuba happened to use any variant of T-72 tanks. All sources are clear there is about 300-400 T-62s still in use and about 1000 T-55s for the taking. As far as I can see in Cuban orbat, this country offers some serious T-72s while phasing out T-62s and T-55s (which did not happen and probably wont). Please take a quick look on it so I am not mistaken and fix it. |
Re: Cuban armour
That would appear to be the case - no T-72s for them, still using 62 and 55.
So - any T-72s to be renationalised to 0 (may be used in a scenario). Later model t-55 can be copied and used with a rare radio code X1, T-62 with an X0 in the later gap period? unless anyone knows any different? |

Re: Cuban armour
That was a good catch! I can't find anything different I did come across this but, before I get beaten up, I haven't had a chance to check the following against the OOB due to my current time constraints. If the tank issue was missed so might this have...
Ref. 1: My boys come through again, enough said. But do note last para on what the "empty" tank hulls were converted to. Ref. 2: In this updated version of this year, in Para 8, they simply mention that Cuban has four different armed versions of the BTR-60PB. Ref. 3: Seems to be a early sighting of the one in question, first Post is from APR. 2011 basically asking "WHAT IS IT?". http://www.military-today.com/artillery/cuban_fsv.htm https://www.militaryfactory.com/armo...sp?armor_id=16 http://www.steelbeasts.com/topic/3790-cuban-armor/ I can't find anything at this time that shows anything earlier than Ref. 3. I suspect based on that we're looking at something around JUN 2010 FOC. Regards, Pat :capt: FYI: Just downloaded NEW Win 10 OS, all seems fine. |
