Ah, thanks. Another solution is when importing your mods to the comp enhancement file, append them to the top ABOVE the "normal" file entry at the top of the list, that way they AI will still take heavy mounts when they are available, but wont take anything above the normal entry.

Again thanks, SJ.

Comp Enhancement Conundrum...

This weekend, whilst evaluating my new race's (The Slaanesh) AI, I noticed that the game uses a logic for selecting component enhancements that throws off game balance for the AI players.

Basically, some of the component enhancements that are out there are good in certain situations, but a poor choice for all ships. However, the AI pretty much uses the following logic when building ships: If a valid component enhancement exists, take it. This causes some certain problems with, for instance, transport ships taking component enhancements that are geared for warships, sometimes to the extent that they cannot fulfill their original job!

Anyhow, beware leaving on all your old experiments with component enhancements, you will significantly impact, and probably weaken, all the AI players.

The easiest solution is to put a "Normal" enhancement at the end of the file.

Since the AI always chooses the Last valid enhancement, it will go and choose the "normal", and have no problem.
