Random Spotting

Am in the middle of a PBEM and I was able to spot 1 of my opponent's units without having LOS.

I thought it was unfair advantage, so I told him and thought it was because his unit's size was 5 and probably showed up once he moved too much.

He told me he thought it was rather a case of how he moved his units 1 hex at a time, and that before he moved into his final hex (to hide from my LOS), he had just revealed himself. So the game engine remembers his final position and shows it up.

Do you guys have any other possible theories? I mean if it was the latter, I'll be more mindful of how I move my units as well.

Are you sure nobody had LOS? Did you have air support that turn?

It was a city map, so plenty of ways to block LOS.

My air didn't fly that turn

Since its a pbem, would you be able to determine what happened if I send the files to you?

I am not part of the development team but if its an unsecure PBEM I could load it & look if you specify the hex number the unit is in.

Hi Sigeena did you see it in the move replay or during your turn? Because I have definitely seen out of LOS units during the turn replay but they don't appear in my actual turn

I saw it on my turn. It was nicely blocked by a building, but I could see that it had moved as well.

I guess it's one of those quirks of the game. Don't let it occupy your thoughts too much. The only advantage gained is that my opponent brought along a Tiger( who wouldn't??)
