Guide to installing/using shipsets in SEIV GOLD
 

Newbie Question

Does anyone know if there are any guides or can tell me the steps on how to successfully install/use any 3ed party race style/shipsets that are out there - any help would be appreciated

Sure, no problem.

First, be sure that the race style is compatible with gold. It won't work otherwise.

For installing them, most racestyles are in a .zip file, so you just unzip them into your space empires directory.

However, some .zip files don't have the paths, so you have to do it manually. Just make a new folder in the pictures/races directory that matches the first name of the bitmaps in the file. Then unzip into that file!

Viola! You now have a new race to add to the game!

Also, many racestyles have empire files (.emp) for easy addition to a game, so just make sure those are in the /empires directory.
