Any Suggestions?
Back in 2018 I posted an old War Of The Worlds mod some unknown person created for Steel Panthers 2 about 20 years ago. I had a lot of free time last year thanks to COVID so I decided to try to convert it to work with WinSPMBT. I was planning to just do a straight copy of the data in the OB file, but I am having a problem with the Martian heat ray. Since the steel panthers game program can't accurately model directed energy weapons, the mods original creator made it class 18 napalm. This works fine on soft vehicles and infantry, but it is just about useless against armored vehicles no matter how much I increase the pen/kill settings. Can anyone suggest a solution?

Tried that. Not much of an improvement.

Then, perhaps, use a HEAT projectile to get the effect you desire and not worry about the missing flame effects in the hex.
OR let the heat ray be 2 weapon slots with a flame weapon in one and an AT projectile in the other giving all effects when the it (both) are fired. |
