Accuracy vs Hit Chance
While i understand how the final hit chance can degrade when the firer panics or the target takes evasive maneuver, i don't understand why the initial accuracy of ATGMs is always estimated so low? I target a tank with Malyutka ATGM, it tells me that Accuracy is 9%, but the final hit chance can go as high as 95%. What gives? Perhaps i misinterpret the meaning of "Accuracy" value?
WinSPWW2 is much more predictable in that aspect. |
Re: Accuracy vs Hit Chance
It happened to me the same. You must be talking about the battle we play :).
I was also surprised by the difference between what predicted what was really. Generally the ATGM has a high percentage of success, except when it is triggered very close. |
Re: Accuracy vs Hit Chance
1) the accuracy number shown in the Targeting window is simply a "gunners guess" without any luck rolls etc incorporated.
2) The accuracy shown there is only for the slot 1 weapon. So if there is aa cannon in slot 1 and the TOW is further down the slot list, its not that useful (e.g. AH-1 Cobra say). 3) The reported hit percent you get when you actually fire has been processed through all the firing code, including all the random numbers for luck rolls, any dodging of ATGMs etc so is the final result and not a gunner's guesstimate. Bottom line - the chance shown is a very rough guide as to which weapon slot 1 shots may have a better chance than others, is all. |

I assumed that it was what you mention in point 1. and I checked the ATGM unit seeing that the groove weapon 1 is the Malutka. The unit is ATGM infantry of Eritrea year 1982? I don't remember the year well ... |
Re: Accuracy vs Hit Chance
I see. That`s exactly what i thought. I wish it could display the accuracy of ATGM if i deselect all the other weapons in the unit menu or "w" menu.
