Supplies
Am I missing something? why are engines the only thing that actually require supplies? Alot of other components use them - but don't actually need them to function. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif
It doesn't make any sense to me, shouldn't everything that uses supplies require them to function? How can a weapon fire with out ammo, or a robo miner work with out energy? |
Re: Supplies
Shields need supply IIRC.
And notice you can still move without supplies. So you aren't totally out, just mostly. Low enough that the crew has to do intresting things to keep the ship running. Also IIRC some of your weapons won't fire. Phoenix-D |
Re: Supplies
When you are out of supplies:
1. Yours shields wont work 2. You move 1 move per turn 3. Your weapons work 50/50 (if you have two rockets, one wont fire) 4. You cannot use any special ability = mining, cloaking etc. For the supplies question, everything that uses supplies use them only when actually used. This means that every damn missile you fire in the combat drains some of your supplies. Every. I mean it. |
Re: Supplies
Well, I hope that's how it works with ships... I've only tested it out with satellites - do they work differently, and not require supplies to run their systems?
Although, I did try the robominers out on ships... they can keep mining at full capacity after the supplies have run out. |
Re: Supplies
In SE3, when your ship was out of supplies there was a coin flip for each weapon do determine if it would be available during a battle. Weapons that passed were fully powered.
In SE4, all your weapons work fine all the time, but you will not be able to move more than 1 square/turn, you will start with no shields, and if you happen to run out of supplies IN combat, your shields will remain up, but not regenerate. Sats ignore supply status. |
