Neostandard help!
I'm going to update my website this week, and that includes the neostandard pages. They are waaaaaay out of date, and what is there does not really reflect the current state of the neostandard.
The thing is, I don't know what does! I've not been on the forums as much as I'd prefer lately, and so I don't really know whatthe current status is. I know S_J has been working on the racemaker software, but I really need some help with this. Basically, I need answers to these questions: - What is the neostandard? I used to know what it was, but with Gold and everything else it isn't what it was. Wat is it now? - Do we actually need the neo-generic shipset? It's not quite finished, but I could finish it and make it available for download. - What shipsets (other than those listed) are neo-standard compatible? - What mods (other than those listed) use the neo-standard? Someone, please help. I want to update the page but I am having some kind of stupid attack and I don't even kmow what I'm writing any more... |
Re: Neostandard help!
The neostandard is a simple list of the filenames to be used by mods and shipset designers when they add non standard vehicles.
- It is cross-compatible with Classic and Gold. - It allows shipsets to include unique images for use in multiple mods without further tweaking. It provides modders a pool of expansion images for new vehicle sizes. - With the neoshipset builder, it also guarantees that there will be an image, and most likely an appropriate image for each of the neoshipset filenames. There are a vast number of alternates, rather than just the one alternate slot provided by SE4 Gold. I think the neo-generic shipset is appropriate, and could be included with mods in case the shipset builder is NOT run on the races being used. Mods: (P&N v2.5 / v2.5 PBW) or higher. |
Re: Neostandard help!
Mods: Techmod (v 1.0 or later)
I'm currently in design phase. Ships are done though and the the mod is neostandard compatable. Phoenix-D |
