Out of memory error & Autosave

While playing SE4 Gold I got an "Out of memory" error. Game locked up. I killed it and then bounced the machine. After machine re-start I started the game. I selected resume game and it prompts for a password, but I never set a password. So I select load game and the latest Auto save game. It prompts me for a password. All of the autosaves prompt for a password. This is not good. The Last manual save was yesterday. It doesn't prompt for a password, but it's too old.

What do I do to get in? Is there something I missed in the manual regarding autosaves?

Did you try entering a blank password?

Yes and a few other guesses.

Is there a way around the password or a way to blank it out?

You could try entering as host, and then resetting your password.
Is this a simultaneous or sequential game?
