Repulser beams are way stronger than I thought...

Repulser beams may target planets. Do they actually work against planets (without extensive modding, I mean)?

Lisif,
trying to imagine an escort juggling with a planet during tactical combat... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

PLANETS?

That shouldnt be. Maybe You read wrong?

Edit: Huh. May target all but seekers... Something is very wrong with this statement.

You can only push things with less mass than you have.
Planets can't be pushed around.
And don't bother trying to push a moon with a planet.

Well, I wonder why components.txt allows tractor and repulser beams to target planets, and it might actually work (in a mod, of course - although I suppose it won't be very useful).
What is the effective tonnage of a planet? Maybe by modding a "light" planet or a really big ship size...

The effective tonnage of all stellar objects is infinite. They don't even get pulled around by black holes (but ships and sats get stripped out of planetary orbit http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif )
