starting a new game with players in their own system
I'd like to start a game where each player has 5 planets an all 5 of their planets start in 1 system. Seems like no matter what i try, they usually end up spread across 2-3 systems.
Is there a way to facilitate that that i'm not seeing? Thanks |

Ask someone to set up your game for you, and set the homeworld placements manually, maybe?
Edit: i.e., using the map editor. [ 08 April 2002: Message edited by: PvK ]</p> |

You can only set the location of the first homeworld in the Map Editor.

There is one way to ensure that all planets are in one system, but it is a little extreme.
Setup the quadrent so that it does not have warp points, all starting planets are forced to be in one system then. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif |
Re: starting a new game with players in their own system
You could have each player start with five races, all assigned to the same system in the map editor. Then on the first turn surrender your other four to the one race. Of course this will limit you to four players in the game.
I also seem to remember a bug where if you assign starting position in the map editor and do a ten planet start, they will all ten be in the same system whether you want it or not. That may have bee fixed though. And not sure it ever happened for five planet starts. Geoschmo |
