Space Empire IV Gold

I have been away from playing Space Empire IV for some 6 months. Tell me is the new Gold Version an improvement and to what degree?

I want to get back into playing the game but I was wondering if I should purchase the Gold Version or not.

Yes, Gold is a big improvement over normal SEIV.

Special support for PBW
Player made mods, ship sets, other included on CD
Drones work now
New things such as Organic infestated systesm.
New Stars
Etc.
