Cats and SEIV

Do any of you have this problem? Does your cat insist upon being loved and petted at aproximately the time you sit down to play SEIV? Does your cat bug you constantly with taunting mewoows and odd other little shounds in such a manor as to consistantly distract you? Do they nudge you, claw at you, or blatantly walk across your key board causing all sorts of havoc?

Mine does, and she can be quite the bothersome pet when she wants to be. Hell not even my GF can annoy me as quickly as my cat. Gold bless her, she is such a lush.

Hah, you have discovered one of the many cunning subterfuges being carried out by The Fabulous Furry Felines of the Growltigga Alliance - by employing highly trained undercover feline agents to distract you whilst playing the game so that Growltigga the Great can beat you all into submission!!

Be afraid, the Growltigga alliance can programme your cat to do anything!!

Seriously, yes, my 2 are right little sods and only the fact that I have purchased a gas gun to clean the computer has stopped them sleeping on the keyboard...... peeling them off the ceiling after using a gas gun however is causing some superficial damage to the fabric of my house!!

I don't have a cat, but my 2 year old daughter exhibits this slightly annoying tendancy. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Mine (the cat that is) has switched from trying to help me enter commands at oh so inappropriate times to sitting on the monitor and occassionally swatting at a ship the displeases his sensibility.

We have 3 cats, 2 females, 1 male, the male could care less, he just sleeps in my computer chair and gets annoyed when I move him to play, like its his chair, the 2 females are and act just like Atrocities stated, especially the younger on, she loves to walk on everything including the key Boards, cks out the printer, etc, the other one, she just scratches my pants and then rolls over on her back expecting me to give her a belly rub, and all this right in the middle of Twixle the 4ths imperial fleet fighting in tactical the devious designs of the Rage. And if I ignore them, out comes those crys of abandonment until you cann't stand it any longer.....
I really think the Furry Felines are in cahoots with GT just to spy on our playing abilities...
Be careful Atrocities, they could have monitors hooked to their collars http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

be careful, be very very careful
look to the sky
its "THEM"

just some ideas mac

Val,
Remember: A cat is never yours.

Re: Cats and SEIV

I must say, my GF is more insistent than my two cats.

Although my younger cat used to lay across the top of my monitor, he can't do that anymore since I put my computer in a nice little hutch. I kinda miss that - although I don't think it was really good for the monitor. That cat weighs 18 lbs., and the vet said he might actually need to gain weight! Seriously, he had to scrunch a little to fit on top of my 21" monitor, so that gives you some idea.

Now, the older cat I actually inherited from a friend of a friend; she's a 14-year-old cat, loves to sit on people's laps, meows piteously every half hour & won't stop until you either call her name repeatedly or go find her, but at least she doesn't jump up on the computer desk. It's too high for her to reach - she can't jump up very far. She's only half the size of the younger cat, but demands four times the attention.

Has anyone written a computer game for cats? You could have birds flying across a touch sensitive screen, and every time the cat hits one, there is a big squawk
and feathers fly all over the place. Well, on the screen, anyway. I'll bet you could sell a few.

Yep, this thread is obviously striking a true cord with some of us.

I should now introduce you to the 'real' Growltigga - my tortoiseshell and white monster - this cat weighs in at a 'vet verified' 12 kilos (about 30 pounds to you yanks), she is about 31/2 feet long, muscly as hell and is currently rolled up in a ball at my feet, purring like a messerschmidt and disembowelling her favourite mouse - her brother Ella is much bigger
