Couple of Questions
 
hi guys =) got some simple questions here:

1. in MP, i can't seem to give the "attack" order to almost anything. It shows up in the orders section, but it seems to me like it just stands there...

2. in MP, drones and fighters don't seem to work very well. Fighters work ... not bad.... but drones seem to only work in combat, and since i can't make them attack a target, they're only good when someone attacks something that's CARRYING drones.

3. Any way to launch only 1 of a unit in MP?

4. Do we need Spaceports for Research/intel?

5. Any way to make a ship NOT stop once it encounters a system with alien ships/colonies/units in it?

1. I think you mean that you don't see the blue line to the ship you are attacking? Your ship will move and attack it

2. Don't know

3. I don't think so??

4. Yes

5. Yes, I believe it is in the Empire Options screen.

1) The Attack order only works on foreign-controlled objects. You won't see a line, since your ship dosen't know which way the enemy will go yet. Your ship will follow when the turn is processed.

2) Drones can only be ordered to attack something you can currently see.

3) Carry only one of that unit.

5. Go into options (IIRC) in the empire screen (the crown button) and click the "clear orders when encountering enemy ships" (or somesuch)button.

Also, take a look at the rest of the buttons to see what they do. my life got a whole lot easier when I realized that I could adjust the game to skip over fleeted craft when cycling through ships.

You'll only see ships moving by using the Movement Replay controls. A ship with attack orders should show as "Seeking after &lt; target &gt;" on the (F6)Ships/Orders list.
