TDM and what?

I am looking for a gold mod that extends the tech race and would fit in with the TDM races with little or no patching.

Any ideas or has anyone been playing with a combination that works well?

Well... if your just looking to make research phase of game Last longer you could edit the facilities file so that all research buildings produce less RP.
