Shipset and Empire portrait design choices
 

Is there any way to choose any other than the default Empire/Ship sets? When I try to create a new empire the default pairs are the only choices. I would like to be able to mix and match these. I know there are whole other shipsets but am fuzzy on how to integrate them. I am trying with default mod for now.

Not without moving files around. You'd need to copy one of the existing folders in SEIV/Pictures/Races, and then copy and rename a portrait from another race in place of the existing portrait in your new directory. If you size it correctly, you can use any bitmap, so your pet turtle can rule the galaxy, or whatever.
