DoGA-L1 + ???

I've been using Parts Assembler, but when I transfer the .DXFs to MicroGrafx 3D, I don't get the colors transferred.

Anyone know of a good prog. to use with L1 to get them to look like they did in L1?

I use DOGA L3 and it has a built-in renderer....

DoGa-L1 also does rendering, right click the header and then use the "save as" command. I save it as a bmp file, and use paintshop pro for sizeing

I never used L1, L2 is also free and has more options. To make a nice picture, use "create motion" option once you created ship in "parts assmbler". It gives much better rendering. Then use "print screen capture" and past it into graphic editor (Photoshop, Microsoft, etc.)

This procedure has been told to me by Val, all credits to him {and blame http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif }

Oleg,

Although free, I remember reading that L2 did not have a renderer... or would include it with a fee. Is this still true?

Re: DoGA-L1 + ???

pathfinder (H.B.), how did you get ahold of L3, other than the brief description page, I find nothing...how much are they looking to get for it?
After you sent the Int. M.O., how long 'till you got the CD? Is it worth the trouble? Have you tried designing your own pieces yet?--- Sorry for the barrage, but I really like the little bit of L1 and would like the other features if they are as good as the first would seem to suggest.

I'll try the right click idea [Insert your name here.] ... my connection is really poor today (26400 and two disconnects in 3 minutes...Thanks AGAIN QWEST!!!) so I won't risk going back 'till I post this for your handle.

What is the most versatile format to Export the files in? I know .DXF, but don't the others. Thanx!

I just followed this link from Val: http://www.shrapnelgames.com/cgi-bin...&f=23&t=004714

I did, however, pay the fee ($49 USD) to register L2 before doing this...IMHO is the right thing to do...

Shareware L2 has a renderer. It does not have some utilities to generate animations (I think), but since all SE IV pictures are static, it is not much loss.

Re: DoGA-L1 + ???

Ekaj, the only save as option puts it in a format (l2) which I assume is for L2.
Oleg, I'll try that motion idea once the CD gets here- don't understand why anything to do with motion (blur) would give a better pic though.
Almost 26megs is a bit daunting for low dial-up. You'd think living well within the second largest city in the state would mean virtually assured DSL...Wahhhhh! Thanks all!
