Re: Crazy turn in PBW

For some reason the Se4 executable rejected the turn you sent in and the AI played for you. It was the same as if you had not uploaded a turn.

90% of the time this is due to players uploading the incorrect game turn, such as a previous turn or something along those lines.

Did your game recently change Versions, such as from 1.60, to 1.67 or something like that? And if so do you have both Versions on your PC? You may have uploaded the Last turn played under the old Version. This is by far the most common cause of uploading the incorrect turn. If you have different Versions, or different mods that have their own savegame folders, make sure you are uploading from the correct savegame folder.

If you don't think this is what happened, it's also possible that the .plr file just got corrupted somehow during upload. I can check it out for you if you want if you can give more details about which game, which turn, which player.

This happened to me once. I thought my browser had messed up the first time, so I "re-sent" it, but it actually had got it, so it took my re-send as if it were my orders for the next turn, too, which caused the AI to take over a lot of things.

One amusing thing it decided to do was to retrofit my newly-completed colony ship to a specialized Version that was the same but had very few engines!

Press F11

Click the "Ministers" button

Scroll down to the bottom, where you see the "Minister Options"

Select the bottom one, "AI should not make changes to the empire during a Simultaneous Game"

Make this the FIRST thing you do on the FIRST turn of every PBW game you play http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Crazy turn in PBW

Gentlemen. I am rather new to PBW and I am around turn 30 in a current game. A recent .gam file was rather strange.

The game decided to obsolete all of my ships and create it's own. Reorganized all my planetary production queues. Sent my warships on missions unknown.

I checked my ministers and the AI - and they were (and still are) turned off. I did click the "savegame" button prior to sending in that turn. The plr file was sent to the server and recognized as having been received.

Has this happened to anyone else? If so - is there a fix or answer? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif

YES! I'm not entierly sure what the AI thinks "no changes please!" means but i think it was opposite day when that was implemented. Just use NO AI MOD from now on, or be careful submitting turns.
Unless the AI declares war on your long time ally (which can totally F*** up an empire if you are sharing defense, resupply, preparing for a big offensive) it is pretty easy to fix the ship design thing, and any new construction queue items.

MM is doing a great job and this is just a small thing in the grand scheme of thins, probably more related to ppl's carelessness using PBW than anything else.
