Richard, please Help.
 

I changed my display name in my profile in order to test the accents for Andr&eacutes, but now when I try to change it back, the board says:
"The login or public display name that you are trying to use is in use by an existing member. Please select another."

I think it might be that my older Posts didn't get updated when I first changed my display name, and now I can't set it back http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

Is there anything you can do to fix that, or am I destined to place small random symbols after my name for eternity?

The same thing happened to me when I changed to "Gryphin's Dog". I'll be happy to have "Gryphin" back if possible.

Belive it or not there was another suicide junkie ID that I thinki was causing the problem.

Oh, right.

I believe I signed up as "suicide junkie" a long time ago, but then forgot my password after being away for a while. Later, I signed up again with the underscore in there.

I don't know why it accepted my display name when I changed it the first time, but not now.

PS:
It is still complaining, same message.

The only thing I might be able to do is actually hack the database manually and change your info. That will be difficult and something I need to do when I have no distractions, I don't want to blow up the forum again http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif .

I take it that removing my other login didn't work then, right?

If you do go in and change my display name, will I still be able to update my sig without it starting this whole thing over again?
