How is SE:IV gold...really?
 

Is SE:IV gold fun? i am thinking about getting it for my birthday, how much ebtter is it than the normal SE:IV?

Lots of errors fixed and Drones added.

You can also play TCPIP with a friend.

Also, there are lots more of system pics.
Even though they don't do anything, mostly, Arak Koba created some files that make them useful and proportionized the pics.

There are tons of minor improvements that all add up to a much better game, I would say. In fact, it really made the difference for me between "great but with some nagging problems" and "improved upon great, with some minor problems". The mod support also improved in some important ways, allowing me to do the things necessary to make my Proportions mod, which also helps a lot. AI is better. Much more satisfying sound effects. I think it's definitely worth upgrading.

Well, PvK is very modest. His own Proportions mod can work in SEIV-Gold only and in itself is worth the cost of Gold. Add here Derek' mod (Proportions based colonies) and future Babylon5 mod, also with Proportions' ideas. Other people start to move in the same directions - advertised PDF' mod for example. All of this activity indicates that Gold definetly invirogated mods development and in the end our enjoynement of thr game.

Get the Gold Version. It is a nice evolutionary upgrade. The TDM mod is still a "must install", from my point of view, but the game itself is much more stable and has some new features. Use the rebate offer if $'s are a major issue.

I play alot of other games but I still keep coming back to SE4. As far as strategic level space conquest war games go, it is, "simply the Best!"
