Questions-Feeling like a Newbie again!
Putting the finishing touches on the Gold Version of the 'D-Mod' and noticed a few things in the original Gold files that have me wondering.
Fighters:May or may not have the ability to warp through warp points. Once fuel is exhausted, it is destroyed. Ummm....how do I get them to warp?? Sats: Must be refueled by outside means. Once fuel is exhausted, it goes dormant like a ship. May or may not be under Player control (depends on components). If not under player control, will fire on any ships in the same sector. Uhhh....fuel?? Troops: May or may not be under Player control (Monster Troops will fight all comers once dropped). http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif Monsters! Where? Ionic/Tach/etc weapons, do they affect UNITS??, ie can an Ionic weapon destroy a drones engines??, a fighters?? Drones: Why can't they use Smart/Plague bombs?? IMO this would make them MUCH more useful and dangerous. Anyone know the answers to the above questions? Theories? |

You've just noticed these notes? They've been there since the game was originally released. Yes, there were some grand plans but many of them were not finished. Cargo carrying drones, for instance. Fighters cannot warp. Monster troops were never invented though I hope he might still do it. Along with a gazillion other things like space monsters, warp gates, planetary cloaks, planetary engines, etc., etc... I have noticed that 'special' damage types don't work as Drone warheads and complained to MM. I hope it will be fixed. [ June 11, 2002, 19:08: Message edited by: Baron Munchausen ] |
