Capital Missile Hit probability
In my current PBM game, I encountered a small bettle between my unarmed explorer ship and an enemy level1 CM ship.
The enemy ship fired 3 times his missile, but it didn't hit my unarmed ship. My ship didn't move at all, so it couldn't outrun the missiles. Do someone know if the missiles have hit probability? How can I calculate it? As I knew, the missiles always hit their target, except if they (the missiles) burn out their fuel. |
Re: Capital Missile Hit probability
Seeking weapons (including cap. missiles) have a 100% hit rate. As you say, the only time they don't hit is if the target moves out of range, or if they shot down by point defence. Or if the target gets destroyed before the missiles arrive.
In your case, if your ship wasn't moving and didn't have point defence... well that's a bit odd. Maybe it hit the ship but didn't display the explosion. Is the ship damaged? Was it damaged before? Also, what Version & patch of SEIV are you using? I think some Versions had a bug where ships would fire seekers even though they were out of range. Re: Capital Missile Hit probability
It's also possible that the missile hit but didn't do any damage. Are you playing a modded game? What is the damage level of the CSM I in this game? Are you using shields or emissive armor?
Also, the combat replay does not show damage in progress on your ships! You only see actual damage in tactical combat. Are you sure that your ship was not damaged? Check it outside of the combat replay to be sure! |
