I have not modified any files in this installation of SEIV. This is the installation that I keep orginal for PBW purposes. Last night, ooops today, I was playing a small game and this ERROR (Click to view) kept coming up.

Like I said, I have not modified any files. This is a clean installation of the game (1.67). Is this a bug, and if so, has any one any idea how to fix it?

Not necessarily a virus, it can be corrupted files ... Program read "bad" sectors, so gets a chunk of data in another file.

Make a disk check...

Don't jump to such alarming conclusions. No virus or HD corruption, IMHO.
Something is wrong with one particular Strategies.txt file. Check out what race produce this message. It is still possible that you have some leftovers from some custom races. Otherwise everybody would have this message.

Oleg is right one here. There is nothing wrong with your data files at all. It sounds as if you have a race that instead of using the Default_AI_Strategies.txt file has it's own particular racename_AI_Strategies.txt file, and the Fighter Attack strategy is missing from it. So when the default design creation file pulls that up it can't cross referance it and you get the error.

IIRC that Last time I got this error it didn't stop the game, it just comes up at the beginging of the turn.

Hmm. It doesn't look like a bug, more like you have a virus eating data.

The Default_AI_DesinCreation.txt file, in the AI folder, is referencing a block of text in the DefaultStrategies.txt file(this is in the Data folder).

I'd go see if you even have a DefaultStrategies.txt file there and a section that starts as "Fighters". If you don't, copy one from another Mod folder.

But, like I said, it doesn't sound like a bug. If it was, noone would be able to play. You may want to run a virus scanner on your system, on the other hand, it might just be data-rot, a mysterious inexplicable form of computer altzhiemers. Run scan disk to see if you have a sector going bad on your HD.

If no virus or rot, you might have erased or screwed it by mistake somehow, you could always reinstall the game to a different directory and go copy the DefaultStrategies.txt file from there to your current game. That might fix you.

Thanks guys, I will check the races. I had just installed a few races from the TDM pack into the rece directory. Perhaps it is one of them.

You see after you forgot your post about signing up for the 1st Darwin's Legacy game I became desperate for assistance of any sort to meet my minimum player requirement. It just happens that the game is one player short of minimum. After all, if my man Ikfube is good enough to work mojo for select African national soccer teams I just knew he could handle this.
