Newbie question: Sphere, Ring world?
I happened to come across a very funny article..
I read on till the 62th way. "62. You keep playing the game for 100 years after winning, just so you can make a sphere world." Yes, I know there're such things in Se-IV. But I am really confused about these stuff: Sphere world, Ring world..?? I think they are uselss to conquer enemy. And they don't constitute as a victory condition like Building Wonders in Age of Empires. Could somebody tell me what're their purposes? Do they make a difference in conquering galaxy, or they are just like pretty clothes for a king? ---101 ways to tell if you're addicted to SE-IV. http://www.angelfire.com/tv2/NewAgeS...Addiction.html |
Re: Newbie question: Sphere, Ring world?
My answer to the question of why to build a Sphere or Ring world? -- Because I can.
I am a newbie (more or less) and have only played single player games vs AI opponents. In all of my games I made a Ring or Sphere world...just because I could and it looks cool. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif The production boost you get from such a huge world is very nice, though I already have the game mostly won by that point -- it is only a matter of time. Re: Newbie question: Sphere, Ring world?
If you must build a Ring/Sphere world, then I agree that the effort should go toward other things.
However, if you make a map that includes these worlds, they can be prizes to be fought over. The build and storage abilities of these worlds make them more valuable then entire standard systems! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif |
