TDW Mod Pack problem
 

Been playing and enjoying the mod. I got an error message when one of the computer players was taking its turn.

There was a problem in the orks_ai_designcreation.txt

Unknown value: fighter intercept and drone planet attack

That isn't the complete error meassage but you get the idea. Is this something I can fix or does the original author have to do it?

You can either change the strategies in the ork design creation file for fighters or drones or you could download the most recent TDM Pack at http://home.t-Online.de/home/3200453...1/tdmstart.htm http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

My apologies for the trouble but I wouldn't know what to change in that file. I am not a MOD person. I am running 3.11 at this time. I got the file back in May. Has it changed since then?

As it turns out the Krill have the same problem???

3.11 is the most recent TDM. Is it possible you started the game before gold? Or is this an "original" gold game?

I went ahead and did the change manually, thank you for the help I will let you know the results. I am running the latest TDM download which I did Last night and was still getting the error.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Open orks_ai_designcreation.txt and replace all "fighter intercept" with "fighter attack" and
"drone planet attack" with "drone attack".

Even better, search race download forum for a latest Version of Orks. I think this problem was solved.

TDM Krill AI is a copy of Orks.

That was my oops. The strategies were in the AI_Strategies file, but I forgot to set them up in the .emp files which is what is causing the error. The latest TDM-Modpack should have the updated ones, the names of the empire files flipped around a couple of times so make sure you are using the latest empire files. That doesn't correct the problem in existing games, to correct them; edit the Krill_AI_DesignCreation.txt file by searching for the Fighter entry, and changing the default strategy from Fighter Intercept to Fighter Attack, and for the Anti-Planet Drone entry, and change its default strategy from Drone Planet Attack to Drone Attack. Do the same for the Orks, but search for the Fighta-Bomma and Anti-Planet Drone entries (make sure you save a copy of the original files).

Hello,
I am new here, so forgive me if my question is silly.
I tried all you wrote , but still get the same error message: "Uknown Value "Drone Attack" for Default Strategy in record "Anti-Ship Drone" . And also in record "Anti-Planet Drone".

I start game with latest TDM, and choose Colonial2000, the very first turn gives above errors.
Can someone help?

P.S. Hmm just noticed theres Colonial and Colonials, I think that was the problem,looks like Colonial.emp files are from old Version, somehow got into TDM pack and give errors, no problems with Colonials.emp yet..
