Range check error?
I left my computer on too long and it caused an error while playing the game. After I restarted I choose a ship and sent it to a planet. It disapeared and "Range Check Error" came up and froze the game. I uninstalled and reinstalled. Then I deleted it all and did it and range check error. Anyone know how to fix this?

Re: Range check error?
I'd suggest you do a search on this forum for 'range check error' I'm not sure how to fix your prob but it may have been discussed there. They seem to be a fairly common problem.

Re: Range check error?
Also search for "RCE", because some people are acronym-happy. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Re: Range check error?
Most RCE are caused by intergrater (sp) errors. Do a search in the forum for RCE's. Most of the time the error is caused when the AI tries to do something it can't. The quick way to fix that is to put the offending player on Manual Control and play the turn for the AI. Then switch it back to AI control.

Re: Range check error?
or when you re-do the turn, just do something different with whatever caused the problem, or don't do anything that turn and go to the next . Atrocities is probably the best way, but i've seen the others work as well, afraid the RCE's will always be with us, at least its a lot better then it used to be, not as frequent.
