Don\'t go away, ability!
 
I wish there was some kind of flag for component abilities that said "Ability does not go away even when component is destroyed". It would be useful for uber organic armor that regenerates even when it's dead, basic bridges (ala Proportions where they have -15 to weapons and defense), and SJ's Master Computers that give a Psychic cloak. (Captain, we have hit their Master Computer! All of a sudden we can pick up their ship on psychic sensors!)

You mean, we need a way to add abilities to HULLS without having to use a component. I've suggested 'mounts' that add an ability to a hull before. Something else that MM will have to do in hard code, and one of many things we'd like to see.

Until it's added, you could mod special ship hulls for some of this, like a line of 'organic' ships with armor regen built-in.
