Now, be Honest

This is just a humour poll for those of you who must fill out every poll on the board http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Thanks to dogscoff for inspiring this poll!

Hehe, if my fleets were humans, they would be slobs.

OK, the truth is I'm hopeless at keeping my fleets busy
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Might as well admit it. The MM website says that SE4 will tell you when fleets have completed their orders and are waiting for you. I guess that means that the NEXT FLEET button will stop at an idle fleet, skipping those with orders, on sentry, being repaired, etc.

Problem is, that's kinda annoying to setup (I know it could be saved in empire). The big problem is that when I'm cycleing through the fleets, it seems to skip some. It takes several cycles through to find all ships that are idle and I just get annoyed.

I guess that's why I still see the default AI on medium bonus, high difficulty as a challenge (at least for a while).
While others think TDM modpack, high dif, high bonus, all angry, 5000 race points for them none for me, role play, human player blindfolded, is still dull.

I'm convinced if I played against some people on PBW their skill would be so high that they would be able to reach through the modem cord and punch me in the face every fifth turn

I call these, "1AM Mistakes"
That and
send colony ships with no one on board
send ships through the same mined warp point
send more than one colony ship to the same planet
Design and build ships with no engines or not just one or two engines
Forget to delete orders befor changing them
And the list goes on...

It's actually possible to list ships according to their orders (look under Fleets/Ships/Units?) but it would be nice if there was some right-click context menu so you could jump to them or even pretty much give them an order on the spot i.e. if you just want to move them to another system you can select it right there from the map.

Then you could have a filter to list ships with no orders, ships with just movement orders, ships with cargo orders (drop/lift/move), and more complex orders. Even list them by destination, maybe.

I don't think you can utterly eliminate 1AM errors, but there are some little nips and tucks and warning lights you can add to prevent them. It's a question of not overloading the interface with too much extraneous information http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Now if the poll said "Have you ever screwed up an 8 month old game by missing the first turn ever cause you thought you had time to do it after work" I would be guilty. Guess that is sort of like not give a fleet orders. Can you say DOH!! (times 32)

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Are you sure that's a Sumerian proverb? Looks more a Jendevi's proverb...
