Scrapping Weapons Platforms?
 

Yup, newbie alert.
I just got se4 gold, and am really getting to love it now that I've played through a first game vs. the CPU to learn all the parts, etc.

Question: Can I scrap/recycle weapons platforms, etc.? Only thing I can seem to do if I want to get rid of one is to chose the "jettison cargo" option? Or am I just missing something.

You can't recover resources from your platforms by scrapping. You can only jettison them.

That is the price you pay for no-maintenance on units.

The realy annoying thing about this is that you can't scrap one. you have to scrap all of the same class. (unless I am missing something) I find this really annoying if I want to scrap my wp's and build a better type.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Well, you could load some onto a transport, then use the jettison button. That way you don't lose everything, but I agree that it's not an ideal solution.

With the next patch you can chose the exact amount you want to get rid off.

The WPs are grouped by the design name. Simply copy the old design and change the name.
example: Wopit 1, Wopit 2, Wopit 3.... etc.

Obsolete the old names, and build only the new names. This will make it easy to discard a small number of WPs at a time.
